SPOILER FORUM GUIDELINES:
Spoilers are pieces of information which may ruin the viewing experience because they're confirmed fact. Every forum that has spoilers also has differing spoiler guidelines and we understand that. For the purposes of people posting on
this forum (MYMEDIA-FORUM.COM) here's how we define a spoiler:
If a piece of information did not air on the television, as part of a LOST broadcast, it is considered a spoiler.
So let's take a look at that for a moment. Are Kristin, Ausiello, Doc Arzt, BuddyTV and the like considered spoilers?
Yes. The LOST Experience?
Yes. Mobisodes?
Yes. The Official LOST Podcast?
Yes. Casting info?
Yes. DVD Extras?
Yes. "Enhanced"
LOST episodes?
No. Previews?
No. Previews, whether they air just after LOST or some other time during the week, still air on television. Therefore they are not considered spoilers. However, we do have some people who wish to avoid discussion of the previews so if you start a thread discussing previews, we ask that you add "Preview Discussion" to the title.
If you wish to post a theory based upon spoiler info, please do. However, we ask that you add "(ST)" (for Spoiler-Theory) to the thread title. This will help differentiate the spoiler threads from the spoiler theory threads for those who don't wish to read spoiler theories.
Spoilers outside of this forum:
The easy thing here is, don't do it. Period. However, there are times when you may wish to mention a small tidbit of spoiler info to your response. We ask that you utilize the spoiler tag. While you're typing your response to a post in a thread, you'll see a button at the top of the input window (where you type) that looks like this:

This is the spoiler button. It's simple to use and only takes a moment. For a more detailed explanation of the spoiler tag please read the "
How To: Use the Spoiler Tag" thread in the Help Desk.
Posting of False Spoilers:
Again, the short answer here is, "Don't do it."
The posting of false spoilers here at LostTV-Forums will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If anyone wants to post false spoilers relating to LOST, please find another forum in which to do so. We understand that mistakes can be made, information can be misunderstood, etc and basic human error in relaying information is one thing. However, blatantly misleading the posters/readers on this forum is completely different.
From here on, anyone found to be posting false spoiler information would face discipline ranging from a warning to banning. There is no "level of offense" on this matter. Each instance, if/when it happens, will stand on its own. If it's found by the moderators/administrators that it was a basic mistake, we may just send you a warning telling you to do a better job of relaying material. If it's found that it's blatant, again a judgment of the moderators/administrators, you could face immediate banning from this forum. If anyone feels the need to post false spoiler info, do so at your own risk. As with anything that is documented in life, it never hurts to have resources/references for that documentation. Even if you cannot provide a link, it would be in your best interest to provide as much possible relevant material as possible if you were unsure of the source. It might not even hurt to wait until you have better referencing sources before posting.
We are not in any way trying to keep people from posting spoilers here, quite the opposite. However, as one of the largest unofficial fan sites for LOST, we cannot allow blatantly false information to be posted about the show. It hurts your credibility as a poster and our credibility as a forum.
If you have any questions regarding these guidelines,
feel free to PM or email myself or any one of the staff members. We'll be more than happy to answer your questions.
Thanks for your time and enjoy yourself!
