Not sure how this fits in yet other than Jack's dad appears in an awful lot of losties flashbacks and there is something definately going on with time as Richard has not aged since Ben was a boy.

Hm, they look similar, but I think that Jacob, is just Jacob.

Carlton Cuse confirmed in a recent interview that, despite the shot of the man in the chair, the role of Jacob has not yet been cast (much like they did with the original picture of Des and Penny, which features a different woman than the actress who was eventually cast to play the role). The actor that is eventually cast may look radically different from the person in the chair.

I don't think that JAcob is ant person that we have seen on the island, nor do I think he is related to the 815 survivors.

i think that jacob is most likely not to be someone we have seen. however i do think that richard alpert has something to do with jacob. richard could be 'the man behind the curtain'.

I think Jacob is empowered by Christian's death energy amplified by the island. The relationship between Jack and Christian would power up Jacob enough to ovethrow Ben' s control. Whomever dies goes "into" Jacob/the island.
