Re: Fringe: Season 2: Episode 8: "Of Human Action"
Ok so I wasn't overly impressed with this episode. I just think my expectations were through the roof. I thought it was cool how they tied CBG into historical events.
Umm does anybody else find it weird that Massive Dynamic has their hands in everything the FBI is investigating? This does not raise any red flags?

What if all of CBG's clothes and items are from their place of origin? Perhaps specially made to keep them from becoming more 'human'. That flag pin, since it's from our world, somehow opens the door for August to be more like us and develop feelings. The pin gets attached, he suddenly realizes he has a connection to this girl, and decides on the spot to save her.
If the pin isn't there, he simply observes her getting on the plane and dying.
They sure did make a big deal about that flag pin, and it was on him throughout the episode. Thoughts?

August already had the teddy bear in his briefcase before he was "pinned," so I doubt the pin changed him. The pin could have been an indication that he was more open to outside influence than the other CBG we had seen in the past, thus leading him to stop observing and start acting.
Again, they remind me too much of Uatu/The Watcher from Marvel Comics for comfort.

I'm ok with not seeing Creepy Bald Girls tbh.

Good point... forgot about the teddy bear. Maybe it was the teddy bear that caused the change to take place? *shrug*
And I agree with Ltrain... I think the episode was good, but no where NEAR what I was expecting. I was hoping for more answers into why the CBG's are here... instead I just got a bunch more questions.

Where did that post in Greek go?
The airline was Tropos Air.
"Tropos" is derived from the Greek τροποσ, which means "way of doing things"; also τροπή, which means "turn" or "change".

It was spam, so I had to delete it. It wasn't for a Greek airline though.

That would be my best guess, too. Sadly, I don't think there are anymore old wooden coasters like that in Mass.
I think the show is actually filmed in Canada this season, so it's probably not the actual Yankee Cannonball coaster from Canobie. I'd have to compare screen shots.

playland amusement park in vancouver b.c. the first clue was the shot of the canadian flag in the background of the apex of the wooden ride, and the second clue was the the wooden ride itself (as far as i can tell the only one in vancouver) and the third was that vancouver is where it was filmed.

Yeah... makes sense. Thanks for the research on that... the coaster didn't look like the Yankee Cannonball at Canobie Lake Park... but I was hoping!

Re: Fringe: Season 2: Episode 8: "August"
I was a little let down as well. I allowed myself, with a lot of help from everyone here at the Fringe board to get all pumped up about the myriad possibilties of this episode. An episode about the CBGs. So, it's all your faults!
But, what did we learn...There are more than one CBG. That they've apparently been observing us for centuries. Going back 1,000s of years. That they came here without emotion. Well, we saw that change. August had fallen in love with the girl, and gave up his life to give her a life. Okay, I said I wasn't going to
Has anyone else noticed The X-Files like meetings between Broyles and Olivia out of doors? I could understand his meeting with the government official outdoors, but now it's more of a normal occurrence. Does anyone have some background about this change? Are TPTB trying to save on the cost of producing Fringe spisodes?
